Roles of plant hormones in thermomorphogenesis

چکیده

Abstract Global warming has great impacts on plant growth and development, as well ecological distribution. Plants constantly perceive environmental temperatures adjust their development programs accordingly to cope with the environment under non-lethal warm temperature conditions. Plant hormones are endogenous bioactive chemicals that play central roles in growth, developmental, responses biotic abiotic stresses. In this review, we summarize important of hormones, including auxin, brassinosteroids (BRs), Gibberellins (GAs), ethylene (ET), jasmonates (JAs), regulating This provides a picture how plants sense transduce signals regulate downstream gene expression for controlling conditions via hormone biosynthesis signaling pathways.

Roles of Plant Hormones in Legume Nodulation

Legumes play a crucial role in agricultural and ecosystems based on their ability to convert atmospheric nitrogen gas into plant-available ammonium in symbiosis with soil bacteria commonly called ‘rhizobia’. This nitrogen-fixing ability makes legumes attractive as an agricultural, economical and environmentally friendly crop as their requirement for nitrogen fertilizer is reduced, leading to a ...

UV-B Perceived by the UVR8 Photoreceptor Inhibits Plant Thermomorphogenesis

Small increases in ambient temperature can elicit striking effects on plant architecture, collectively termed thermomorphogenesis [1]. In Arabidopsis thaliana, these include marked stem elongation and leaf elevation, responses that have been predicted to enhance leaf cooling [2-5]. Thermomorphogenesis requires increased auxin biosynthesis, mediated by the bHLH transcription factor PHYTOCHROME-I...

Plant hormones

Plant hormones have been studied for more than a century because they have been heavily implicated in the control of plant growth and development. For many years, they have been considered to fall into five classes: auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, abscisic acid and ethylene. More recently, a variety of additional classes such as brassinosteroids have been added and it seems likely that more w...

Roles of plant hormones and anti-apoptosis genes during drought stress in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

We previously identified the rice (Oryza sativa) senescence-associated gene OsSAP which encodes a highly conserved protein involved in anti-apoptotic activity. This novel Bax suppressor-related gene regulates tolerance to multiple stresses in yeast. Here, we show the effects of drought stress on leaf and root tissues of plants over-expressing OsSAP in relation to the levels of phytohormones, ab...

Doctor’s dissertation, ISSN 1652-6880, ISBN 978-91-576-7380-0 The role of plant hormones in wood development has been studied for decades, and their crosstalk in many biological processes is the subject of increasing focus. In this thesis, modern biological tools have been used to p...
